Treadmill Desk
I walked on my treadmill desk again tonight during the pacesetters call. It works very well!! I listen to the call on Skype and I can type notes as I walk. Tonight I managed to up my speed to 3mph and still be able to type just fine. Woohoo! I walked for a total of an hour and burned 270 calories. Not a bad way to get a workout!

Back on track!
Well, I didn't do much today. I was pretty lazy, as I didn't leave the house until late this afternoon when we went to get our flu shots. I went to dinner at Mackenzie River with a friend and by the time I left the house at 6:15 for that I hadn't done any exercise or anything. We got the thin crust Thai Pie pizza and each had a salad. I love their salad! I was good and only put about 1 T. of dressing on (though I counted it as 2 on SP just in case it was more - kind of hard to judge when you're pouring out of a little cup) even though I absolutely LOVE their dressing. Then I ate two slices of pizza. I counted it as 2 medium slices of Pizza Hut thin crust pepperoni, and I think that's fair. Pepperoni is usually some of the fattiest pizza you can get, especially from Pizza Hut, so that's what I usually count pizza as on SP. It was a great dinner out and time with a friend (without kids!) and it's so nice to be able to do that without eating a ton of calories!
So because I didn't exercise before dinner, I knew I'd have to after dinner. I couldn't go two days in a row without exercise!!! Especially not my first week back to exercising and calorie counting! So I put on a movie from hulu.com (Bring it On - a cheerleading movie with peppy music. Peppy music is always good when you're exercising!) and I got on the treadmill and walked at 3.4 mph and an incline of 3-5 for most of the movie. I walked for 90 minutes and finally got off to watch the last 15 minutes of the movie in a chair. =D I figure that was PLENTY of walking. I ended up burning 675 calories in that time, too, so I guess I got my 350 in for today! Made up for yesterday, too!
I don't know what tomorrow holds. We'll have to see how Ellie is doing with her flu shot. Last year she was pretty miserable the day after. If she's that way tomorrow we'll stay home. Otherwise we'll go to playgroup!!

Treadmill time...
Just walked on the treadmill for 40 minutes and burned 365 calories. I've got just under 300 calories left to consume today. And right now? I'm pretty tired... I think I'll make some Christmas cards, drink some hot chocolate, watch a show, clean the kitchen, then go to bed and actually get 8 hours of sleep. It'll be good.

Weigh In

As for today... I have 200 calories left after dinner and I've walked approximately 7 miles. A 6 mile walk this morning pushing 2 kids in the stroller and then another mile walking around trying to find a lost shoe after our morning walk! But I found it! And I have a blister because I didn't bother to wear good shoes for walking, and they were shoes I don't wear often. Oops. But I'm counting that as my exercise today! =D
Okay... off to find some dessert with the family!

Back to recording....
Yesterday we didn't end up swimming in Yellowstone, as all the swimming holes were closed due to high water. But we did get in quite a bit of walking up and down steps at the Mammoth Terraces. I'd never been there before, so it was fun. We always just drive right by it and never stop. Lots of steps, though! We parked at the top and walked down and around to the lower terraces, then all the way back up, down another section, and finally back to the car. Maybe a mile and a half to two miles by the time we were done. My legs were pretty sore from running the night before, so I felt it for sure!!
This morning we "hiked" on the trails around River Rock and Cobblestone subdivision. All told I did a 4 mile walk, since I started from and returned to my house. Not a run (my shin hurts, so I'm going to give it another day before I try to run again - don't want to hurt myself and not be able to go on Saturday!) but it was at least a good walk and I got some exercise in.
Today I've got a ton of things to do in preparation for my parents' arrival tomorrow, but I started recording my food already (recorded yesterday, too) so I'm off to a good start! Recording, exercising... now for the laundry!

A walk and a run
Well, I woke up this morning before everyone else again, so I got up, ate breakfast, and did my devotions. Then, when Ellie got up, I got her ready right away and we headed out for a run a little before 9. I did week 2 day 2 of the C25K run and when I got all done I decided to keep walking around the loopy trails. I went a total of 7 miles on my walk/run in an hour and a half. Woohoo!
I've already completed a few things from my to-do list today and now it is time for a shower and trip into town for groceries!

Well, Something is better than nothing...
... and I just did something.
Stephanie and I, with our kiddos in the strollers, went for a walk. We walked 2.5 miles and walked for about an hour. It wasn't the fastest pace in the world, but it was a 24 minute mile. And it was something.

Ranting aside...
It looks like all I posted yesterday were WW rants. Sorry! I am still trying to work through all that, but we'll see where I end up opinion-wise on WW for myself. I still don't understand when you're supposed to count something as one serving and when you're supposed to count it as two. If you wait half an hour between eating your first cup of soup and your second, does it count as two individual servings? That's .8 points. If it doesn't count as individual servings, despite the break between them, it's 1.6 points. I'm just confused on that front.
But this post isn't about WW. This post is about yesterday. I felt lousy all day yesterday, and unfortunately my eating reflected that. Ate a little junk food in the afternoon, then we had Taco Time for dinner. Definitely not the way I planned for yesterday to go! I woke up with a headache and just had ZERO energy throughout the day. Didn't feel well at all. But after we got home from dinner Ellie and I hot tubbed and I felt a little better after that, so I went for a run outside. Yes, A RUN! I did the full loop around the subdivision, which is a little over 2 miles. I alternated running and walking, but ran over half of the distance. Go me! I was feeling good about it when I came home (go endorphins!) so I went down to the basement and lifted weights. I would really like to get back into my T/Th weight regimen. I'm not doing heavy weights, mind you, but even light strength training is beneficial and a necessary part of healthy living.
Today I am back on track, even though I feel like I have no energy still. I added iron to my nutrient tracker, though I don't think I'm lethargic due to an iron deficiency. Still, it can't hurt to at least make sure I'm getting enough in my diet. Despite my lack of energy, I put Ellie in the backpack and walked to Bible study today. Wow! Adding 30 lbs makes it harder to walk! But we went to Bible study even though I didn't feel like going and I'm glad we did. After Bible Study I called Taylor and we walked over there and let Ellie and Corinne play for a while. Then I put Ellie back in the pack and walked home. All told I walked about 45 minutes with Ellie in the pack, walking at a brisk (as briskly as I could!) pace.
Now she's napping and I just want to munch on stuff. But we're having Clint, Taylor, and the girls over for dinner tonight, so I need to figure out what I'm making before I munch on anything. So far (after breakfast and lunch) I'm at 350 calories, 3 g. fat, and 9 g. fiber for the day. That puts me at 5-6 points, depending on the soup count. See rant above. So I've got 13-14 left for dinner and afternoon snacks.
And today I'm trying to drink straight water, without my Fulfill added in. It's tough!

It's sort of like a rain dance....
I went for a walk this afternoon, but the weather seemed to think I was doing a rain dance. I walked around the Cobblestone subdivision (a six mile walk!) and made it about a half mile from our house before it started raining! The rain is GOOD, but I was drenched by the time I got back. Still, 6 miles in 1.25 hours isn't bad! It used to take me that long to walk 2 miles...
