I'm too tired to say much about today.

We had a lovely steak dinner and ate outside while Eliana played in the sprinkler. I didn't eat well for lunch because I forgot my carrots and dip at Tamara's house, and that's what I was planning on eating before my class at Keepsakes! So instead I had some Reese's candies before I drove home because I was feeling dizzy and didn't think it wise to drive without SOMETHING in my system! Not good, but oh well. I didn't pass out while driving home and I consider that a blessing! I really thought the nice big protein rich breakfast would have helped stabilize my blood sugar, but it was apparently not enough to carry me through until dinner. Oh well. Tomorrow we have a picnic after church, but I don't think we'll go to it. I think Leif is hoping we can get out and do something together as a family.

Well, I am falling asleep, so goodnight!

I will not eat the bread of idleness.

A Wife of Noble Character

10
[c] A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.

11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.

12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.

14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.

15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.

16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.

18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.

19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.

21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

29 "Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

31 Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

I'm taking one step at a time, and today I will not eat the bread of idleness. I will busy myself with the things I should be doing and face my responsibilities head on. I will use my mouth to pray for others and train my child and not as a portal for food to bury my feelings of shortcoming. His grace is sufficient for me, and today I lean on that grace and not my own strength. And today I will not eat the bread of idleness.

Now... where did I leave off?

*sigh*

Consistency is such a hard thing. And not just in eating right and exercising. No, consistency is pretty hard in every area of my life, from housekeeping to parenting to crafting to exercise to eating right. And unfortunately, I have noticed that if one are of my life gets out of balance, it's not long before all the rest do too.

And it's pretty obvious that *this* area of my life (that is, the eating right and exercising part of my life) is out of balance right now.

I feel like all of my life is sort of spinning off kilter and I've spent the week trying each day to address my eating issues. I start the day off okay, but once I start to feel myself slipping I seem to tumble head first into temptation. I don't even have bad things to snack on in the house and I manage to eat poorly, mostly in the form of over eating or snacking!

My weight loss plan is not the problem. My problem is that I have let my life fall out of balance. My craft room isn't getting clean because I have no motivation to do it... it isn't getting clean because I feel overwhelmed! The same for the laundry still in the basked that needs to be put away and the kitchen counter that I get 80% clean and never finish. I am not just taking two steps forward and one step back in my diet... I'm doing it all over the place.

So I need to get to the root of the problem. I need to get my LIFE back in control before I can even think about succeeding in getting my weight back in control. Because my over eating and over indulgence is not a problem. It's a symptom. And I cannot deal with my weight until I deal with all of the areas that are now out of balance. So let's just look at the areas of my life, shall we?

SPIRITUAL - There's been a pretty consistent decline in all of the categories below with the decline of this, and it directly correlates to the week I lost my Bible study book. I couldn't find it for 3 weeks and now that I've finally found it, we just finished the study. So my goal is to go back and finish the last few weeks of the study that I missed because I couldn't find my book. I need to get back in the Word, because if I don't fill my mind with truth I know that I am leaving it open to lies. And I have been hearing some lies lately, about who I am and what is important and I am ready to replace those lies with truth.

HOUSEWORK - This is the most visible evidence of one or more areas of my life getting out of balance. And I just cannot get a handle on it until I get everything back into perspective. But this is also the area that speaks the most love to my husband. For him to come home to a clean house and a hot meal is about the equivalent of him showering me with affirming words, compliments, and gifts. I also gain a huge sense of accomplishment when the house is clean and I am up to date on all the laundry. It allows me to relax and craft without feeling a burden over my head. It makes me feel happy and calm, and that goes a long way to making me a better parent and more inclined to take care of my body the way I should.

PARENTING - When my priorities are out of order, I get lazy. My laziness translates in my eating and my housework, and the way I parent my daughter. I don't want to be consistent in disciplining her, because it takes time away from selfish, lazy me. When everything is in balance, I can see what needs to be done and I can do it because I know what is best for her. When I have lost perspective, all I'm really thinking about is me, and that is not good for her. I let her get away with things that she ought to go to time out for. I don't spend the quality time that I should with her. I go for the lazy route and feed her "easy" meals instead of a varied diet. And I model for her a slothful woman, slow to work, who does not eat food that is nourishing to her body. I want to model, instead, the virtuous woman, the woman who is industrious and does not eat the bread of idleness. I want to be active and play with my daughter, thinking up creative activities for us to do together that will engage her mind and exercise her skills.

DIET/EXERCISE - I have set up a plan for myself to help me be consistent with my diet and exercise. I know what I need to do, but, much like with parenting, I am selfish and lazy and don't want to do it. I am seeking comfort in food instead of seeking comfort from the Word. I get fidgety so I eat instead of putting that energy to good use and making the bed or putting away the laundry. I let the rainy weather affect my mood and I convince myself that I cannot exercise because of the rain, despite the fact that we have a perfectly good treadmill, step, swiss ball, and exercise videos downstairs waiting for me. I am using food for comfort and escape, and it allows me neither comfort, nor escape from the tasks before me. They are still there when I am done eating and I am not comforted by my full belly. More often than not I feel sick because I ate not out of hunger, but emotion.

CRAFTING - This area of my life is also out of balance, though I don't tend to recognize that as readily. Yet I look around my craft room and I know that it is out of balance, because my craft room is a mess. And I have been working on cleaning it for far too long. Instead of using my craft room as a place of relaxation and creativity, I have been trying to use it as an escape. It is not calming down here. I barely have room to craft. What "crafting" I have done in my wonderful room has been kitting for classes, and that, though fun, is not relaxing. I am usually kitting the day before a class, so I feel an urgency about it and I feel as though I am trying to beat the clock, trying to get it all done before I collapse in exhaustion. And so this, too, must come under control, must fall into balance with everything else. It cannot take the place of time with my daughter. It cannot be an excuse why the house is not clean. It cannot be a place of service to the Master if it is in chaos and there is barely room to work.

So I am in search of balance. I know it won't happen overnight. It didn't fall apart overnight. But I can work toward it, little by little, working in each area to bring everything in balance together.

I have been working on babysteps in the diet/exercise area. I have had my water for 3 days now. Hooray! I have gone on 3+ mile walks a couple times this week! Hooray! But I know that unless I bring the other areas of my life under the lordship of Christ as well, it will be a daily struggle against my flesh and I, left to my own strengths, will keep failing. I claim that Jesus Christ is lord of my LIFE, and I need to start acting like it. He is lord of my LIFE, every area of it, and I have a renewed desire to "take every thought captive", even those thoughts that tell me to eat that large bowl of cereal after I have already had a yogurt for breakfast, or the thoughts that tell me that it makes no sense to try to exercise in the rain and that there are too many other things to do that should keep me from exercising downstairs if I'm going to be in the house.
So that's where I am. I haven't lost or gained this week. And whether I do next week we'll have to see. But first I need to get things back into perspective.

It wouldn't be so funny...

This wouldn't be nearly as funny if I hadn't just eaten fried green beans with ranch for lunch. You think I'm kidding, but I'm not.

one step at a time...

Well, the baby stepping didn't go so well yesterday. I intended to record my food, but then I didn't. So I guess yesterday's baby step was just stepping on the scale. Because that's about all I accomplished. So my goal today was to actually record what I ate. And... so far so good! I have actually recorded my food and, despite two cupcakes (that would be breakfast and then lunch), I have enough calories left over for some ice cream tonight. Which is good, because....

I TURNED DOWN A BLIZZARD TONIGHT!

That's right... Leif called me from town saying he knew I had a bad day and wanted to bring me home a blizzard. I thanked him and said I preferred some of the ice cream we had at home and a snuggle with him instead. And I have to admit that I'm proud of myself, because I really wanted that blizzard!

baby steps

Rainy days make me sad. Sick children make me sad. Sad makes me eat comfort food. And that is my summary of the last few days. Feeling too frumpy to get exercise, too sad to eat anything but comfort food, too frazzled to get anything done, and too scared to step on the scale.

But today I'm taking baby steps. So I might not jump back into my routine whole-heartedly. I can at least do SOMETHING.

I started by stepping on the scale. It says 117.0. That's down .8 from Monday, and up 2.2 lbs from 2 weeks ago. That's a starting place.

It's 10:30. I'm going to eat some breakfast and record what I eat.

Baby steps. One at a time.

back with the program

Just got done exercising. I did the week 2 day 1 Couch to 5K workout (90 second/2 minute run/walk intervals for about half an hour) and went about 2 miles, followed by 4 miles of walking. And it was my first time running with Ellie in the stroller! I wasn't sure how it would go, but I stocked her up with a couple toys, some milk, juice, and water, and some snacks and she was good to go. We were out for our walk/run for an hour and a half. So... 90 minutes to go 6 miles makes for a 15 minute mile. Not bad! Now I'm working on chugging my water - not as easy to do while walking or running!

Today is Leif's birthday. We're going to the Obama rally (not for Obama so much as just to attend a political rally - they don't come to Bozeman very often!) which means I'm picking Leif up from work, which means we're eating dinner in town tonight. So I'm trying to keep my calories and points down so I have room for dinner.

Damage Control...

Well, now that my parents are gone, it's time for some damage control. I started out the week just fine, even ran twice last week and did the bikini workout once. But by the end of the week I was just eating whatever I felt like and today's weigh in reflected that. I'm up to 117, leaving me 7 lbs to lose in the next 2 months.

So I think it's time to eat some egg whites and head out for a walk or run with Ellie this morning.

Saturday, May 17, 2008

I've been counting calories about as well as I've been blogging...

So what does that tell you? I have no idea how I've been doing for calories, exercise, or weight. Just been spending time with my parents. Leif and I got to go on a date last night, and we walked about 4.5 miles during that time, so I got a little exercise in at least. My parents go home tomorrow morning, so I guess we'll see how I'm doing weight wise when I weigh in Monday. Before then I'm just not going to sweat it.

I ran.

There. I did it. I ran. And I think running on the treadmill is easier than running outside! Crossing streets, passing people, wind drowning out my peppy podcast... I might go back to the treadmill. We'll see.

I don't want to run!

Which is why I really should. I know I'll enjoy it once I get started, I just don't want to do it. I'm lazy. So I should get off my bum and change and head outside to enjoy the sunshine and run while Ellie's sleeping and my parents are here to watch her. Sooner or later I'll have to wait until Leif comes home from work to run outside in the evenings or go the treadmill route, so I should take advantage while I can!

Okay... getting up now...

Up, up, and away!

Ack! I hope not! I am up a lb today, as expected. It could be worse. But right now I really really really want to eat junk food! I want to make cookies and eat them all! Not healthy cookies either... sugar cookies with really buttery frosting. And I have to admit that the cookie cutters and dragees are out, ready for cookie making, but fortunately that plan seems to have been abandoned for another, less caloric one - putting away laundry! Whew! Saved for now, at least.

My plan when I finally DO eat a snack is to eat bananas and strawberries. That way I get something sweet, but not unhealthy, and I get my fruits and veggies in.

I think dinner will be chicken courdon bleu and green beans. Maybe a salad as well.

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

Well, bummer!

I blew it tonight. Mom and I went out for dinner and an evening together. I splurged a bit on dinner, and then later figured I'd already blown my calories so I got a full fat frappuccino with whipped cream, instead of the light one without whipped cream. It was fine (thinking I'd blown my calories at dinner and I really didn't care once I'd gone over) until I just now calculated my dinner and learned that I was fine, and even under 1300 calories until the frappuccino. If I'd gotten the light one with no whipped cream I'd be out 160 calories and end the day under 1500. As it was, I end the day over 1500 because I had a 360 calorie drink instead. Ugh! I hate it when I do that! I'll have to drink another liter of water before I go to bed in hopes of flushing some of that out of my system before weighing in tomorrow! Bummer.

On the positive side, I did do my first Bikini Workout today, so that was good. Didn't do any cardio per se, but I did walk around the mall quite a bit with mom, and I was wearing heels, so that had to add something extra to the workout, LOL! Tomorrow is another running day and hopefully I can get my running in before Bible Study and run over there! I'm hoping for nice weather.

So, that's sort of how my day went. Ugh! I'm still kicking myself over the frappuccino. Where is my will power and moderation when I really need it??!

C25K Week 1 Day 1

Yes, that means I got my behind into gear and RAN today! Of course, I decided to start back at the beginning of the Couch to 5K program, so I really only ran about 1/3 of the half hour workout, but I started back with the running program. Woohoo! And thanks to the podcast, I had peppy music to run to, and I didn't have to watch the clock to know when to switch from running to walking and back again! The podcast is WONDERFUL. I may even be able to run outside with it! =D

There was a little splurging on the eating front, though, because my mom is here. Bad excuse, I know, but we had sticky buns and mocha for lunch out this afternoon. SO GOOD! And so caloric... I made up for it by eating a giant fruit salad and a few crackers for dinner. So I ended the day at 1300 calories even, 33 g. fat, 26 g. fiber, and I got 4 f&v and 2 liters of water. Not the best I've ever done, but not too shabby for my first day back to calorie counting in a week and having my mom here to play! I'm sticking with calorie and nutrient counting and not watching points right now, for the ease of it all. One less thing to do. But with the running and toning program going, I hope to see more progress, even without point counting! I will probably add points back in once Mom is gone. But it's too much to keep track of while we're busy playing. =D

Well, I am headed to bed now, so have a good night and a great tomorrow!

Dinner with family

Guess what? SURPRISE! My dad showed up with my mom today! He has a conference in Spokane this week, so we didn't expect to see him at all, and we had only planned for my mom to come visit, but he surprised us by showing up at the airport today! Hooray! He has to drive to Spokane tomorrow, but we're excited that he got to see Ellie anyway!

So to celebrate, we went out to dinner. We ate at Damasco's here in Belgrade (if you haven't eaten there, it is GLORIOUS!). Leif and I split a dish, I drank a Dr. Pepper (full sugar, I know, but no aspartame at least!), and the four of us (five if you include Ellie, and she had her fair share!) split two desserts. It was wonderful! A bit of a splurge, but I didn't have much for lunch, and I didn't have any snacks today, so I think I'm just fine. It was, after all, a celebration!

Tomorrow is Mother's Day and I don't know what Leif has planned, but again, with a little moderation I'm not too worried. Too much to rejoice and be thankful for! =D

Didn't see that coming!

I weighed in this morning and I'm a full pound lighter than I was yesterday! Wowzers! I sure didn't see that coming. That puts me at 114! I'm still in shock...

So much for splurging!

I fully anticipated to eat a nice big dinner with dessert last night and not even think about the calories. But there were a few problems with the dinner portion of the evening, so I did get a soda, but the rest of my dinner consisted of some salad, 2 tortellinis and about 1/3 of a chicken breast. Not a splurge, I would say! Because we had to forego dessert at the restaurant I did have a cookie (one of the big ones from On the Rise!) once we got to the show. So I'm sure that contributed to my calorie count. But I'm guessing I came in within my 1200-1500 calorie range last night. I haven't weighed myself yet this morning (I haven't even gotten out of bed! LOL! Gotta love laptop computers...) but we'll see where I am when I do. I'm excited for the new program to start on Monday, and I'm especially happy to have worn my little dress (size wise, not modesty wise!) to Protocol last night. I am finally getting to a place where I don't feel too big for my frame! I did have Leif take a picture of me in my dress last night, so I'll put that up here when I get it off the camera. Progress!

In other news, my mom is coming to visit today for a week! I am SO very excited about that! She'll be here in about 4 hours and I can't wait! Hooray!

Measurements

If I'm going to work on my toning, I suppose I should know where I'm starting from... So here are my current measurements. *gulp*

Waist (measured at the smallest part) - 26.5
Waist (measured at my belly button) - 29.5
Hips (measured at the biggest part) - 35
Neck - 11.5
Arm (measured around the bicep, not flexed) - 11
Thigh (measured at the biggest part) - 20

Yes, I am a pear shape. My natural waist is much higher than my belly button, so I'm not sure which I'm supposed to measure. So I measure both. Now, we'll see how these numbers change once I start doing the toning exercises. Here goes nothing! This is about as transparent as I get. As I said before, *gulp*

New Goal?

Well, since I reached my microgoal, I guess I need to set a new goal.

I know that I want to...
  • Lose another 5 lbs (taking me to 110)
  • Tone my arms, legs, and abs
But I'm not sure how to put those into a measurable goal. I don't have a specific deadline in mind, because I don't have any specific events coming up that I want to use as a timeframe. I do know that I want to do some hiking this summer (Mom and Me hikes should be starting in another couple weeks!) and that I'd like to do the Bikini Workout to get my arms and abs toned. I've been thinking, too, about the Couch to 5K program that I dropped a while back. So here's what I'm thinking...

MWF I'll do the C25K routine for the next 2 months. That will get me running either inside or outside and hopefully I'll be able to run 3 miles at the end of it. It will also change up my exercise routine since I need to do that about now anyway. TTH I'll do the Bikini Workout to get my arms and abs toned. And hopefully, by the end of the 2 months I will be more toned, be able to run 3 miles, and be 5 lbs smaller, too!

So that's it. That's my intermediate goal. To run 3 miles and lose 5 lbs in the next 2 months, so by... let's say by Ellie's birthday, July 19! Okay... it starts Monday!

I'm counting it.... Microchallenge results!

Well, my scale wavered between 115.8 and 116, but did eventually land on 115.8, so I'm counting it! I reached my microgoal!

Tonight is the Protocol dinner, so I'm not going to worry about counting points or calories today. I won't over indulge (after all, it's not polite!) but I am just going to go and enjoy myself. Tomorrow my mom comes, so I will be back to counting calories and points then.

Hooray!

The Bikini Workout

Having a baby killed any chances I ever had of wearing a bikini, but it is time for a change up in my strength training regimen, so this looks like a good overall workout to get me back in the groove, and hopefully looking GREAT by the end of summer. I need to tone a LOT, and I plan on wearing sleeveless and halter tops this summer, so I should do something! Plus, it's about time to start changing things up anyway to avoid plateauing given that it's been about 6 weeks on the program I'm currently using (even if I haven't been terribly consistent on the exercise).

The chart, like most of the resources I use, comes from SparkPeople. For the rest of the article, click here.

I'm going to be good today...

Well, even with my sabotage yesterday, I'm down .6 lbs today, taking me to 116.2! So we'll see if the sabotage just takes a day to kick in, but I'm going to try to be very good today, and drink lots of water, and see if I can't make it down to 115.8 tomorrow! How crazy that I am so close to actually making my microchallenge goal when I was so sure it wouldn't be possible after the 2 lb fluctuations that lasted 2 weeks!

So no more sabotage! I'm going to be good today.

Sabotage!

Why is it that every time I get SO close to my goal, I sabotage myself by eating junk?

Yes, that basically sums up my day. Ergh.

Soooo good... and only 1 point!

Last night I experimented with Mexican Hot Chocolate and came up with this concoction.... it is SOOO good and is only 1 point! Woohoo! It was so good I had some this morning, too....

Decadent Mexican Hot Chocolate:

1 packet Swiss Miss No Sugar Added Cocoa
.5 T. ground cinnamon
.5 T. sugar free vanilla syrup
.25 C. ground Elements of Spice Gluttony sprinkles
1 T. fiber powder

Makes 8 oz.
In a mug combine ingredients (save out sprinkles if using whipped topping) and mix with 8 oz. hot water. Stir and enjoy! (Before serving, top with whipped topping and sprinkles if desired.)

Down again

Just a bit, but I'm down again. Woohoo! And I dropped into the 116 range (116.8, but still!) so I get to change my ticker! It also means that I'm 1 lb away from my micro goal, which I was (and am still given my progress so far!) trying to reach by Friday. There is still hope! Even if I don't make it all the way to 115, I'm still pretty happy with my progress, and I get to wear my little dress to Protocol! So that all makes me happy. In addition to that, I've had 4 people tell me how thin/trim/good I look in the last 3 days! That does WONDERS for my spirits!

Eating well,

but not tracking. I was just doing too many things today to track my eating, which is bad. But I have at least been moderate and not snacking, which means I'm pretty much on track and doing fine for the day.

For dinner we're having bean enchiladas (with only 1/4 c. cheese each, so one is okay) and cinnamon hot chocolate (no sugar added) for dessert. Should be yummy for Cinco de Mayo and low calorie. Mmmm.

Sunday, May 4, 2008

Didn't track yesterday...

... and I didn't eat all that great, either, but I wouldn't say I over ate. Went to NSD at KBD, but I met up with Erika before and we had breakfast. I had a pecan sticky bun (which was oh, so yummy!) and a caramel latte. Mmmm.... then we had chicken salad that Sheila provided for lunch. I had a few snack items (a few chocolate covered pretzels and a couple handfuls chex mix) but again, not too much. I wasn't hungry at all when I came home, so I had a skinny cow in the evening, but no dinner. So... I think I'm probably okay overall as far as calories go, and I'm sure I dipped into the reserve points with all that, but I don't think it was too damaging.

Of course, I've already eaten today and I forgot to weigh, so we won't know until tomorrow I guess.

Today is starting off good... water, egg whites, and whole wheat flax and fiber bread with 100% fruit spread.

NO WAY!

I was SO scared to get on the scale this morning given that the last two times I got on the day after seeing 118.0 I gained 2 lbs over night! I did NOT want to see a 2 lb gain again today! (That could be part of what has helped me stay on track while I've been sick.) So I got on the scale and it said...

117.0

WAHOO! I lost a full lb from yesterday!

That's a good way to start off the day!

Thursday, May 1, 2008

*yawn!*

I'm tired. I've been in bed most of the day (or perched on a chair in front of my space heater in the craft room, but not really doing much crafting because I feel miserable!) and I'm still tired. Tomorrow I'm supposed to take Ellie to Erika's so I get some time to run errands, but I might not even feel like driving! I'm not sure which would be worse... driving around in my miserable state, or trying to fend off the cranky toddler at home who's been cooped up for too long. I'm hoping I'll feel up to driving. Plus, I have some things I REALLY need to get done in town!

As for today, I am not sure where I sit on the water front. I tried drinking a nalgene of water, and decided that it definitely has to be carbonated or hot for me to drink it. I just couldn't choke down plain cold water, no matter how much I tried! So I went back to tea drinking this evening, and I'm on my third or so mug of it now, and I think Leif gave me some tea this morning, but it might have been yesterday. It's all sort of running together. I did have some soda, as mentioned earlier, too. As far as I can tell, because the soda I drink is calorie free, aspartame free, caffeine free, and sodium free, it's just as hydrating as water, so should be okay. The problem with soda is the additives, but this stuff is pretty minimal.

For calories, points, etc., I am good. I'm a little low on protein (in the 30-40 range instead of 50-60) but I'm not too worried about it. Everything else is where it ought to be. I ended the day at 18.7 points, which I'm counting close enough to 19 to call good. I'm not in the mood for another. 4 bowl of veggie soup tonight, and I've got 1139 calories for the day. I'm good.

Speaking of good, let me say GOODnight. =D I'm tired.

CAN IT BE?

I am still sick today. Ugh. I hate being sick. I'm such a wimp when I am, and I don't get anything done. And I don't have time NOT to get things done this week!

I weighed myself this morning, and I'm back down to 118.0 today. Now is the telling part... we'll see if I am back up to 120 in the morning! The last two times I have made it down to 118 I have jumped up two lbs the next day. Here's hoping I don't do that again!

On the positive side, though, in an effort to get something done today, I pulled out my dresses to find something to wear to Protocol next Friday. I was pretty afraid I would need to find time to go buy a dress, since most of my dresses are too big (which a good thing) or too small (which is a bad thing)! So I grabbed the two dresses I thought would work style-wise to try on. One was an 8 and one was a 4. I remember the 8 being a tad too big last year, so I set myself up for the impending disappointment and tried on the 4. And.... IT FITS! I'm shocked! The last time I tried to wear it, I practically had to squeeze myself into it, have Leif fight to zip it, and then I couldn't sit down! This time? I got it zipped myself without any problems! Hooray! I'm so excited.

I'm having trouble staying on track eating today, though, because I'm on my 3rd day of soup and tea and I'm just plain tired of it. So I ate some baked beans (which have higher points!) and some fruit snacks (only 50 calories, so 1 point, but they at least have Vitamin C) and I've been drinking pop. I'll have to work to get my water in, but the carbonation just helps clear my throat so much better! So... I'm fighting with it right now. Mostly I'm just fighting with everything because I just want to feel better! (Wow, I'm whiny, aren't I?)
