Vitamin Regimen

I went to the Dr. today about my hormone imbalances and one of the things she did was put me on a vitamin regimen. I haven't been taking any vitamins lately, so I'm sure getting back on some will help with my energy levels! She suggested a B-Complex, plus additional B-12, D, Prenatal, and Calcium, and I used to take Omega-3, and that is fine. Because a couple of the vitamins overlap, I figured I should record somewhere what the amounts I'm getting are... The first value is from the prenatal multivitamin, the next is from another vitamin.

Vitamin A - 4,000 IU
Vitamin C - 100 mg + 150 mg + 6 mg = 256 mg
Vitamin D - 400 IU + 1000 IU + 200 IU = 1600 IU
Vitamin E - 11 IU + 1.5 IU = 12.5 IU
Thiamin - 1.5 mg + 100 mg = 101.5 mg
Riboflavin - 1.7 mg + 20 mg = 21.7 mg
Niacin - 18 mg + 25 mg = 43 mg
Vitamin B6 - 2.6 mg + 2 mg = 4.6 mg
Folic Acid - 800 mcg + 400 mcg = 1200 mcg
Vitamin B12 - 4 mcg + 15 mcg + 1000 mcg = 1019 mcg
Calcium - 200 mg + 200 mg = 400 mg
Iron - 27 mg
Zinc - 25 mg

Biotin - 30 mcg
Pantothenic Acid - 5.5 mg
Omega-3 - 200 mg
Phosphorus - 100 mg
Sodium - 10 mg

The vitamins that are tripled up on are C, D, and B12. B12 and C are water soluble, D is fat soluble, but the upper safe limit is 10,000 IU, so I think I'm safe there. =D Have to double check the doctors sometimes!!

Very interesting, because at about the time I started to get some energy back I started on a B-12 supplement. Perhaps I should get a multi too, and it is good to know that B-12 is water soluable, and that getting more than recommended once in awhile won't cause some terrible problem. Thanks for the info. Hope it helps your hormonal issues!
